Corfu Old Town

It’s known for its cobblestone streets, pastel-colored buildings, the two Venetian fortresses and Liston square.
The Old Town of Corfu is 3 km away from Corfu Airport, where you can hire your car and drive to the Old Town avoiding the hustle of public transportation.
Kanoni Corfu
The area of Kanoni is known for the Vlacherena Monastery and the Mouse Island, the most photographed spots of Corfu. From Kanoni some steps go down the hill to the monastery, which was constructed in the 17th century. The picturesque Mouse Island or Pontikonisi is a rocky small islet with tall cypress trees and the Byzantine chapel of Pantokrator, dating from the 11th century.
Kanoni is ten minutes’ drive from the Old Town. Park your rental car in a parking lot up the hill and walk down the steps leading to the monastery.
Achilleion Corfu
The Achilleion Palace was built in 1890 by Empress Elizabeth of Austria known as Queen “Sissi”. The Empress herself decorated the inner and exterior parts of the palace with statues of ancient Greek philosophers, heroes, and mythical ancient gods. After the murder of Elizabeth, the palace was bought by the Kaiser of Germany William II. Today operates as a museum and conference center.
The Palace is located on the edge of Gastouri village 10 km south of Corfu Old Town where you can drive your rental car admiring the lush green landscape.
Paleokastritsa Monastery in Corfu
The Monastery of Paleokastritsa, bears the name of the Virgin Mary and is one of the oldest monasteries in Corfu, dating to 1225. Located on the western side of the central bay of Paleokastritsa up on a hill, it gives a gorgeous view of the island and the Ionian Sea.
Paleokastritsa is 23 km away from Corfu Town. You can drive up the hill to the monastery where there is a parking lot available for your rental car.
Angelokastro Corfu
Angelokastro is a Byzantine castle located at the top of the highest peak of the island’s shoreline on the northwest coast near Palaiokastritsa. It stands 1,000 ft on a cliff above the sea and surveys the Old Town and a wide area of Corfu toward the northeast and northwest. It is considered one of the most imposing architectural remains in the Ionian Islands along with four other fortifications of Corfu.
Angelokastro is 27 km away from Corfu Town. You can drive your rental car along scenic country roads and through traditional villages.
Kassiopi Corfu
Kassiopi is an old fishing village set around a scenic harbor and overlooked by the remains of a Byzantine castle. The area is surrounded by green vegetation and it offers today every kind of tourist structure including two different beaches.
Kassiopi is the largest village in the northeast of Corfu. It is 35km from the airport of Corfu where you can hire your car and drive for about an hour.
Old Perithia Corfu
This historic village of Old Perithia is situated in the northeast of the island, beneath Mount Pantokrator, about 400m above sea level. It is the oldest permanently inhabited settlement in Corfu, with records dating back to the 14th century. Originally the village acted as a hideaway from pirate attacks.
Old Perithia is 47 km away from the Old Town. Drive your rental car via the coastal road and admire the breathtaking view.
Chalikounas Corfu
Chalikounas is a huge, sandy beach approximately 3 kilometers long. It is one of the most impressive beaches on the island as the shore extends along Lake Korission, separating the lake from the sea. Lake Korission, is the most significant wetland on the whole island and it is a preserved area.
Chalikounas beach is located on the south-western shore of Corfu. Drive your rental car to the beach as many parking lots are available.
Canal d’Amour Corfu
Canal d’Amour or Channel of Love is a natural masterpiece. The rocks, are made of clay which permitted to the sea and the wind to create this lovely channel. With each year that passes, the continuous effects of the elements of nature are created in some parts canals with turquoise waters and in other parts small caves and bights.
Canal d’Amour is located on the northern coast of the island at a distance of about 32 km from the city of Corfu. You can get there with your car rental as it’s very easy to park close to the beach.
Glyfada Beach Corfu
Glyfada is one of the island’s most popular beaches, awarded with a blue flag. This sandy beach with crystal clear waters offers a great variety of facilities, water sports, beach bars, taverns, and shops.
Glyfada is located 15.5 km west of Corfu Town. You will easily reach the beach with your car rental following the relevant signs. There is available a spacious parking lot where you pay.
